GS mark – Tested Safety

The “Geprüfte Sicherheit” (“Tested Safety”) mark is an internationally recognized safety mark. It is awarded only to ready-to-use products that meet requirements which go beyond those merely required by law. Hansecontrol Zertifizierungsgesellschaft mbH has been accredited as a testing authority by the Zentralstelle der Länder für Sicherheitstechnik (ZLS) and is thus authorized to award the GS mark.

Authority

Hansecontrol Zertifizierungsgesellschaft mbH is authorized to award the GS mark. The full list of product categories for which the GS mark can be awarded can be found here.

Requirements of the product

  • Safety pursuant to European directives and standards (CE conformity)
  • Fulfillment of the legally regulated specifications for the award of the GS mark in accordance with the requirements of Section 21 of the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG), under which the safety and health of persons must be guaranteed.

Elements of the GS test

  • Product prototype tests
  • Tests of compliance with all legal requirements
  • Regular product monitoring and production site inspection
  • Production inspection of the series sample up to the prototype
  • Award of a GS mark for five years

Our GS mark

Our GS mark is available in portrait and landscape format, both with and without QR code. The QR code will direct the consumer to our certificate database.
